Advanced oral communication: Enhancing proficiency and clarity of expression for academic presentations
This advanced course builds upon skills from the first semester, with continued emphasis on efficient delivery but with an additional focus on developing advanced language proficiency, expanding vocabulary, and organizing ideas effectively. Students will engage in activities that promote the use of precise and nuanced vocabulary and idiomatic expressions to articulate their ideas with sophistication and clarity. Emphasis will also be placed on refining fluency and ensuring the seamless incorporation of appropriate vocabulary into their spoken English.
While in the first semester, students delivered oral presentations in preparation for their assignments in literature, history, and linguistics, in the second semester, the focus will shift towards simulating the format of the M1 defense exam, where students will actively practice and deliver mock presentations.
